Christian | Reilly specializes in the appraisal of photographs and photographic literature. The
Appraised value of works can vary widely depending on the intended use of the appraisal.
Understanding these distinctions is of the utmost importance.

For Insurance coverage against damage, theft or other loss, accurate documentation of
current fair market value is critical, should a claim be filed. We recommend
updating your appraisal every two years, at minimum. In a market experiencing a steady growth
trend, it may be necessary to update values on some photographs more frequently.

For charitable contribution, any donation of art valued in excess of $5000.00 requires a
professional appraisal by a qualified appraiser. An accurate assessment of value greatly
decreases the chance of the deduction being contested by the IRS. All donations of art valued
at more than $20,000.00 are reviewed by the Appraisal Review Board, should an audit occur.

All appraisal reports generated by Christian | Reilly conform to the current Uniform
Standards of Appraisal Practice (USPAP). We have appraised thousands of photographs and
